Toledo Museum of Art
At the request of the Toledo Museum of Art, GCCS, working with the UT engineering faculty has completed a detailed design of a 1MW solar array to be placed on the South facing slope of the 475/75 freeway adjacent to the Museum. At a meeting with the Museum, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has expressed interest in this high visibility project but has requested that some public entity (such as the County Commissioners) be a participant in the project. A follow-up meeting with ODOT is scheduled for September. LISC has made an initial $5,000 grant to fund this process. The Museum will be involved in raising the funds for the array and will partner with GCCS to use the long term funding stream to support low income artists living and working in the Englewood neighborhood immediately across the freeway from the Museum.
